Business Senior Test Manager

Overview

As a Business Senior Test Manager, you will own end-to-end testing across large programmes, shaping how testing drives business outcomes at Allianz. You’ll lead and mentor cross-functional teams, aligning testing to business objectives and governance standards. The role anchors testing strategy at enterprise level, influencing decisions at board level and coordinating internal and external resources. You’ll advance testing capability and change initiatives, contributing to Allianz’s transformation and quality assurance culture. This hybrid role offers regional offices in London, Guildford or Bournemouth with collaborative, impact-driven work.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end test delivery across complex programmes
• Define testing strategies and serve as principal testing consultant for major initiatives
• Plan, estimate, schedule, and manage all testing activities
• Collaborate with stakeholders up to board level to influence decisions
• Manage internal and external test resources, including offshore teams and third-party suppliers
• Embed governance, quality standards, and best practices across testing phases
• Report progress, risks, and issues to programme boards and stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of testing capability and wider change strategy within Allianz
• Promote ethical, professional, and inclusive behaviours aligned to Allianz People Attributes

Key requirements

• Experience delivering Test Management at scale within Financial Services, ideally insurance
• Expertise in project and test management including planning, estimation, governance, and reporting
• Proven ability to lead medium to large teams across multiple locations
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with senior-level influence
• Experience managing complex change initiatives across Agile and Waterfall environments
• Demonstrated ability to manage resources, suppliers, and third-party relationships
• Highly developed problem-solving and facilitation skills
• ISTQB Test Manager Advanced Level certification (or equivalent)
• Practitioner-level qualification in Change or Project Management (e.g. APM, PMI, PRINCE2, Agile)
