The role

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you may support individuals with:

• Mental health needs and emotional wellbeing
• Learning disabilities and associated support needs
• Developing independence and daily living skills
• Accessing the community and taking part in activities
• Attending appointments and social activities
• Meal preparation, shopping and household tasks
• Personal care where required
• Medication support, where appropriate and following training
• Encouraging positive routines and healthy lifestyles
• Building confidence, independence and meaningful relationships

Every person we support is different, so you will provide individualised, respectful and compassionate support based on their needs, preferences and goals.

About you

You don’t need to have all the answers — we’re looking for people who are:

• Caring, patient and understanding
• Reliable and responsible
• Good listeners and communicators
• Respectful of people’s choices, dignity and independence
• Comfortable supporting people with different needs
• Able to work as part of a team
• Positive, approachable and willing to learn

Previous experience in mental health, learning disabilities, social care or personal care is desirable, but not always essential, as full training and support can be provided to the right candidates.
