Civil Site Supervisor

Overview

In this role you will supervise civil works on live water treatment sites, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and to specifications. You will coordinate groundworks, RC structures, and related civil tasks, leading subcontractors and labour while upholding safety and quality. You’ll liaise with Site and Project Managers and client reps to drive smooth project delivery, conduct briefings and inspections, and maintain thorough site records. This position sits within AMP8 across East London, offering long-term progression toward Site Manager. You will shape safe, compliant execution on a high-profile water infrastructure programme.

Responsibilities

• Supervise civil works on site to programme, budget, and quality standards
• Oversee groundworks, RC structures and related civil works on live treatment works site
• Manage subcontractors and labour daily, ensuring safe and efficient execution
• Liaise with Site Manager, Project Manager, and client representatives to ensure smooth delivery
• Conduct daily site briefings, toolbox talks, and inductions
• Carry out site inspections and quality checks per specifications and drawings
• Monitor and enforce health & safety standards across the site
• Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and progress reports
• Work within an NEC contract environment

Key requirements

• Experience as Civil Site Supervisor, preferably in water/utilities sector
• Experience on treatment works, pumping stations, or clean/wastewater projects (desirable)
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
• CSCS card (Supervisor level)
• First Aid at Work certificate
• Valid driving licence
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders and subcontractors
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations
