We are working with a well-established accountancy firm in Rochdale that is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent role offering £24,000 to £26,000, on-site parking, a company pension and the chance to develop your skills within a supportive practice environment.

What You Will Do

You will work closely with the accountants to support clients across a range of bookkeeping and VAT tasks. Your work will include:

• Bookkeeping using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent
• Accurate financial transaction recording
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns to HMRC
• Producing management accounts
• Responding to client queries and providing bookkeeping support
• Carrying out system checks and resolving issues
• General practice administration

What You Need

• At least two years of bookkeeping experience. Practice experience is preferred
• Good understanding of UK tax and VAT
• Confident using Microsoft Office and cloud accounting software
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good attention to detail and able to manage your workload
• AAT qualification or above is preferred but not essential
• Comfortable working independently and within a team
