Sr. Proposal Manager I

Overview

In this role you lead regional priority pursuits by steering the proposal process, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring high-quality, compliant submissions. You manage multiple proposals, guide interviews, and mentor junior staff to grow capability. The position sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and business development, shaping major opportunities for the firm. You’ll work with colleagues, clients, and partners to deliver impactful proposals on tight timelines, with a focus on continuous improvement and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead go/no-go decisions, kickoff meetings, schedules, templates, and day-to-day coordination for assigned pursuits
• Manage multiple proposals simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
• Coordinate cross-functional proposal teams including coordinators, graphics, and technical contributors
• Develop major proposal sections, facilitate reviews, and manage production through final submission
• Lead interview planning, capture, debriefs, and lessons learned for major pursuits
• Attend interview prep sessions and support team presentation skills
• Drive team alignment, schedule discipline, and proposal quality on larger opportunities
• Provide mentorship to Proposal Coordinator and Proposal Manager I and II staff

Key requirements

• 7-10 years of experience leading proposal development from pre-positioning/strategy through submission and interview for A/E/C or professional services pursuits
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Proven ability to manage larger and more strategic pursuits
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud (including InDesign), and tools such as Salesforce or Power BI
