Senior HR Business Partner

Overview

In this Senior HR Business Partner role, you support HR program delivery across GIO, partnering with local, regional, and global management. You will advise managers on employment practices, lead HR initiatives, and coach leaders to drive organizational effectiveness. The role blends advisory support with hands-on collaboration on restructures, mergers, and talent processes. You help build strong cross-functional relationships and ensure compliance while enabling impactful people programs.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with HR specialists and Centers of Excellence
• Support onboarding and new employee orientation where appropriate
• Conduct ad hoc reviews on legislation, compliance, HR systems, and procedures with guidance
• Contribute to day-to-day HR initiative design and implementation with senior HR teams
• Provide coaching and counseling to HR partners and management
• Act as HR business partner to assigned business areas
• Assist with organizational changes (reorgs, mergers/acquisitions, transfers) ensuring local compliance
• Provide reports and analyses to senior management
• Support line managers in recruitment and selection processes
• Manage HR-related queries independently or with the HR team
• Lead projects as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and strong stakeholder relationships

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• 4+ years in HR as generalist or mix of generalist and specialist
• Extensive knowledge of local employment legislation
• Expert coaching and counseling skills
• Effective leadership abilities
• Strong problem solving, judgment and decision-making
• Good presentation and influencing skills
• Proficient in MS Office and HRIS
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• High discretion and confidentiality
• Ability to work in a matrix environment
• Ability to lead a project
• Professional HR accreditation – desired
