Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will take overall commercial responsibility on civil engineering projects, ensuring accurate valuations, cost reporting, procurement, and final accounting. You will work across site and office teams to support live schemes and contribute to regional growth and tendered frameworks. You will manage subordinates, forecast with the site team, and drive cash collection while maintaining strong commercial control. This is a growth-minded opportunity within a privately owned contractor that values progression toward more senior commercial leadership. A clear pathway exists to progress to Commercial Manager for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Overall commercial responsibility on projects
• Produce valuations and cost value reports
• Perform measurements and quantities
• Procurement of subcontracts and payment processing
• Final accounting and cash collection
• Forecast production with site team
• Manage subordinates (team leadership)

Key requirements

• Strong general civil engineering background
• Experience on earthworks, highways, drainage, s278s, footways, culverts
• Proven track record in senior quantity surveying
• Ability to manage valuations, reports, and payments
