Senior Associate/ Legal Director – Corporate (FTC)

Overview

Join Clyde & Co’s growing corporate and advisory practice as a senior lawyer. You will co-lead corporate transactions, advise on private M&A and joint ventures, and manage multi-jurisdictional matters with partners and senior lawyers. The role sits between London and Guildford, with travel and office presence required. You’ll develop client relationships, lead matter delivery, and contribute to the team’s growth and profile in a globally integrated firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead corporate transactions and advisory matters (private M&A, joint ventures, restructurings, governance)
• Draft, review and negotiate transaction documents and suites of documents
• Identify legal/commercial issues, assess risk, propose solutions, escalate when needed
• Manage matter delivery: process, due diligence, timetable, costs, and overall project management
• Build client relationships and communicate key issues to enable informed commercial decisions
• Supervise and develop junior lawyers, reviewing work and providing feedback
• Coordinate with cross-sector colleagues and offices on multi-jurisdictional matters
• Contribute to growth and profile of the corporate team through knowledge sharing and client development

Key requirements

• 5–10 PQE in a comparable corporate/commercial team
• Practising certificate (Solicitors Act 1974)
• CPD compliance for England & Wales
• Strong legal ability, initiative, and ability to manage a full workload
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and teamwork orientation
• Proactive with willingness to assume responsibility
