About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Full-Stack Software Engineer with substantial experience in Node.js to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing our core systems within a cloud-based environment, primarily focusing on back-end development. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, ensuring high-quality deliverables through Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks. Regular travel to Blackpool is expected two to three times a month, providing opportunities for in-person collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Node.js in a full-stack capacity, emphasizing back-end development.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and related frameworks.
- Experience working within Linux (RHEL) environments.
- Hands-on experience with Git and distributed version control systems.
- Background in developing and deploying applications in cloud-based environments.
- Familiarity with building and testing system integrations and interfaces.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor other Software Engineers within Agile, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with experience managing stakeholder relationships, including senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end systems using Node.js within a cloud environment.
- Translate business requirements and user stories into effective technical solutions.
- Implement and uphold best practices in TDD and automated testing to ensure code quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated system solutions and interfaces.
- Lead or mentor junior and mid-level Software Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide technical guidance to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support operational stability, resilience, and maintainability of the products.
- Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Travel to Blackpool as needed for team meetings and stakeholder engagement.
