Application Engineer

Overview

As an Application Engineer, you support European customers in flexible food packaging, solving packaging challenges and optimising processes. You work closely with Sales, R&D and Product Development to drive innovation for major food manufacturers. This role combines technical expertise with hands-on trials and troubleshooting, helping bring new packaging solutions to market. You will operate within a global packaging leader, contributing to cross-functional initiatives and customer-focused outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support customers across Europe on packaging solutions
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D and Product Development teams
• Troubleshoot applications and optimise packaging processes
• Support packaging trials and validation activities
• Influence packaging innovation and product development
• Develop deep expertise in a highly specialised food-packaging market

Key requirements

• Experience as Application Engineer, Technical Service Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer or Product Development Engineer
• Experience within flexible packaging
• Experience with meat-focused packaging (shrink films and bags; forming films and bags)
• Confident communicator with strong customer-facing skills
• Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe
