Operations Line Lead

Overview

As an Operations Line Lead, you will oversee a factory area up to two lines, championing safety and food safety while driving key performance KPIs. You’ll lead and coach teams, develop SOPs, manage risk assessments, and monitor yields and data to improve efficiency and quality. You will foster a proactive safety culture, deliver training, and maintain visual management and housekeeping standards. This role offers the chance to shape daily production, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a global nutrition business.

Responsibilities

• Manage an area of the Middlesbrough factory (up to 2 lines) focusing on safety, quality, cost and efficiency.
• Develop housekeeping standards and 5S practices; audit compliance.
• Create SOPs and lead operational diagnostics to improve procedures.
• Perform risk assessments and identify hazards; lead SEAT safety culture checks.
• Review material usage using data systems (Yields, scan data, SAP) and ensure data accuracy.
• Maintain KPI tracking (OEE, CTP, Q, EHS, YIELD) and communicate findings in meetings.
• Deliver or facilitate training for Line Teams; manage production rota and skills gaps.
• Maintain hygiene, food safety standards, and inventory protocols including scanning.
• Utilize data systems to extract insights and share key points with team and leadership.

Key requirements

• Previous food industry experience preferred in an equivalent position
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety
