Quantity Surveyor – Rail

Overview

In this role you will manage the commercial aspects of civils, rail and infrastructure projects, ensuring financial control from procurement through final accounts. You will work with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to deliver successful project outcomes and maintain strong relationships. The position offers challenges in valuations, cost forecasting and procurement, with a focus on delivering value and effective project delivery. You will be part of a commercially driven team shaping major infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, interim, and final valuations, payment applications, reconciliations, and cost assessments for contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, and specialists
• Manage the commercial team and support tender preparation
• Produce accurate and timely valuations, cost forecasts, and cash flows, ensuring effective financial control of contract variations
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, representing the company at meetings as required
• Procure and place subcontract work packages in line with the procurement schedule

Key requirements

• Experience on Rail Maintenance or other civil maintenance projects
• QS Degree or equivalent
