EV Principal Delivery Engineer

Overview

In this role you drive the delivery of Virgin Media O₂’s UK EV charging point rollout, owning on-site supervision and ensuring safe, high-quality installations. You’ll lead the full delivery lifecycle from pre-site surveys to sign-off, coordinating with programme teams, contractors and supply chain partners. This is a high-visibility position that aligns build activity with planning and partner teams to meet performance targets. You’ll travel across a large region (North London) to keep projects on track and resolve on-site challenges, shaping the rollout at scale.

Responsibilities

• Oversee infield build supervision to deliver installations safely, on time and to quality standards
• Coordinate full delivery lifecycle from pre-site surveys to final sign-off
• Collaborate with programme teams, contractors and supply chain partners to keep projects on track
• Manage DNO connections and ensure alignment across planning, build and partner teams
• Coordinate build activity across a large geographic region with regular travel

Key requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
• ECS Gold Card as Installation or Approved Electrician
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• Proven experience delivering large-scale programmes in telecoms or infrastructure environments
• Proven experience of EV charging infrastructure rollout
