About the Role
Gentech Recruitment is recruiting for a Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join a well-established and successful plumbing and building supplies business in Larne.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, high-performing trade counter with a strong existing customer base.
Our client is open to candidates from a range of technical sales and trade environments. Previous plumbing experience is desirable but not essential, provided you have relevant transferable experience and a positive, customer-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving trade and retail customers at a busy plumbing counter.
- Providing product advice and excellent customer service.
- Processing orders, quotations and sales transactions.
- Building and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
- Handling telephone enquiries and assisting with product queries.
- Supporting stock management and product availability.
- Identifying sales opportunities and promoting relevant products.
- Working alongside an experienced team to achieve targets.
What We’re Looking For

- Technical sales
- Trade counter or customer-facing sales roles
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, good customer service experience and the ability to work in a busy environment.
Full plumbing experience is not essential. The right attitude and relevant technical knowledge are equally important.
Salary & Benefits
- £28,000£30,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
- Overtime paid at time and a half (1.5).
- 2 Saturday mornings per month, 8:00am12:30pm.
- Monthly performance bonus of up to £100, regularly achieved by the existing team.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, with two Saturday mornings per month from 8:00am to 12:30pm, paid at 1.5 the normal hourly rate.
