Director MEP

Overview

In this Director role, you will steer strategic MEP concepts and ensure high-quality technical delivery for complex UK projects. You’ll lead an integrated design team, coordinate with clients, and mentor junior engineers while monitoring fees and resources. The position emphasizes innovation, staying ahead of competitors, and shaping project outcomes within a client-centric consultancy. You’ll build strong relationships and contribute to the firm’s growth and reputation.

Responsibilities

• Attend project meetings and translate briefs for the team
• Lead development of initial strategic concepts aligned with brief and regulatory standards
• Take a lead role in integrated project design teams with construction professionals
• Ensure solid technical delivery solo or in teams
• Mentor and guide junior staff to develop their skills
• Monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered with the team leader
• Pursue new ways of working and drive innovation and research

Key requirements

• At least 8 years experience within MEP Design
• Experience in a client-facing role
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
• Chartered or working towards Chartered status
• Interest in or experience with business development
