Civils & Drainage Design and Engineering Manager

Overview

In this role, you lead design and engineering for Marshalls Civils & Drainage, driving transformation and delivering engineered precast solutions. You’ll partner with design, operations, and commercial teams to improve processes and provide technical input for major energy, water management, and infrastructure projects. You combine leadership with hands-on design to make manufacturable, commercially viable solutions. This is a chance to shape critical infrastructure with an engineering-led, collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Drive transformation of design, engineering, and processes across teams
• Provide project and technical support for bespoke precast elements
• Interpret customer and project requirements to deliver manufacturable solutions
• Collaborate with operations, manufacturing, and commercial teams to improve data and ways of working
• Contribute engineering input into major energy, water management, and infrastructure projects
• Mentor and motivate project teams to meet deadlines
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build relationships

Key requirements

• Civil/structural design background in a relevant environment (consultancy, design & build, or manufacturing)
• Degree-qualified in civil/structural/construction related field (preferred)
• Accreditation with a professional body (e.g., IStructE or ICE)
• Experience with Eurocode 2 design (EN 1992-1-1)
• Knowledge of reinforced and precast concrete design and loadings
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural modelling software (SCIA, Allplan preferred)
• Strong communication with diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to change
• Proven ability to motivate self and others to meet deadlines
