Supply Planning Manager | Consumer Goods company | South Yorkshire | £45,000-£55,000 plus 8% bonus
Do you enjoy turning forecasts into practical supply plans and making sure products are available when customers need them? Are you confident working with third-party manufacturers and taking ownership of planning, purchasing and stock control?
I’m working with a consumer goods business in South Yorkshire that’s looking for a Supply Planning Manager. This is a varied, hands-on role within an SME, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the supply planning function and improve the processes behind it.
You’ll combine strong analytical skills with the ability to build supplier relationships, coordinate manufacturing requirements and keep on top of changing priorities. There’s scope to make your mark by bringing structure to planning and helping the business manage its supply chain effectively.
What you’ll be doing:
- Translating sales forecasts and customer orders into supply plans and purchasing requirements.
- Working closely with third-party manufacturers to coordinate production, manage lead times and maintain product availability.
- Managing stock levels, balancing availability with the need to control excess inventory.
- Coordinating finished goods, packaging and component requirements.
- Identifying supply risks and resolving issues with suppliers and internal colleagues.
- Developing planning processes, reporting and standard operating procedures.
- Supporting new product launches and working across functions to align supply requirements.
What we’re looking for:
- You’ll bring at least three years’ experience in supply chain or planning, covering forecasting, purchasing and stock control. You’ll have worked in a varied, hands-on role within an SME and be comfortable managing relationships with third-party manufacturers.
- Advanced Excel skills, strong attention to detail and an analytical approach are essential. You’ll be a confident communicator who asks questions, follows through on commitments and takes the initiative to solve problems.
- Experience within FMCG or consumer goods would be advantageous, alongside knowledge of Sage, European suppliers, supplier sourcing or price negotiation.
- The role is based in South Yorkshire, with a minimum of four days a week on site.
