Tanium Security Consultant

Overview

As a Principal Consultant, you will lead Tanium deployments across enterprise environments, combining hands-on technical delivery with customer engagement and technical leadership. You will design, implement and optimize Tanium solutions, guiding workstreams from discovery to handover while integrating with surrounding systems. You’ll shape a growing Tanium practice and mentor other consultants, delivering secure, scalable endpoint management at scale. This role offers exposure to diverse environments and cross-functional collaboration in a security-focused consultancy context.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and optimization of Tanium Cloud and on-prem environments
• Own technical workstreams from discovery to implementation and handover
• Translate customer requirements into secure, scalable Tanium solutions
• Work across Tanium modules (Asset, Discover, Patch, Deploy, Comply, Risk, Enforce, Performance, Provision, Investigate, Connect, Reporting)
• Design endpoint onboarding, RBAC, patching, software deployment and remediation processes
• Support migrations from legacy endpoint-management platforms (SCCM, Ivanti, ManageEngine)
• Develop high- and low-level designs and operating procedures
• Troubleshoot complex endpoint, network, firewall, proxy, certificate, and connectivity issues
• Support vulnerability management and security hygiene programs
• Integrate Tanium with ServiceNow, CMDB, identity and security platforms
• Lead customer workshops, design reviews, demonstrations and technical presentations
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and assurance to other consultants
• Identify technical risks and delivery considerations
• Contribute reusable methodologies and assets to strengthen Tanium practice

Key requirements

• Significant experience designing, implementing and operating Tanium in complex enterprise environments
• Strong knowledge of endpoint management and enterprise IT operations
• Experience across multiple Tanium modules (not just sales/theory)
• Experience deploying Tanium on Windows and Linux
• Understanding of endpoint connectivity, networking, certificates, firewalls, proxies, and segmented environments
• Experience with enterprise patch management, software distribution and vulnerability management
• Solid understanding of security principles (least privilege, compliance, attack-surface reduction)
• Ability to produce customer-facing architecture and operational documentation
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to lead technical workstreams, manage priorities, and work independently
• Experience in controlled environments with formal change, testing, and governance processes
• Active SC clearance
• Current Tanium certification (TCO preferred)
• Desirable: Tanium Certified Administrator (TCA), Tanium Cloud, PowerShell, REST APIs, SCCM migrations, ServiceNow integration, CIS/NIST/DISA STIG, Microsoft Intune/Defender/Entra ID, Linux
