Overview
In this role you will support high-value oil & gas projects and complex transactions for international clients, including energy majors, NOCs and governments. You will operate within the Projects team, collaborating across UK and international offices to structure and negotiate deals, draft detailed contracts, and manage risk. You will build and nurture client relationships, contributing to business development and your own practice growth. The role offers exposure to market-leading transactions, energy transition initiatives, and potential progression to Counsel or Partner. You’ll work in a dynamic, globally connected environment that values initiative, resilience and commercial acumen.

Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate detailed contractual documentation on diverse oil & gas projects
- Assess and manage legal and commercial risk across transactions
- Develop and maintain client relationships; contribute to business development
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for international transactions
- Absorb new contractual challenges and deliver solutions for complex deals
- Travel as required to support international work
- Work independently within a large team to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Support projects financing, M&A, and trading-related engagements
Key requirements
- 4 years+ PQE
- Oil and gas experience across M&A, project development, financing and/or trading
- Strong negotiation and legal drafting skills
- Excellent project management and ability to work within a large team
- Ability to assess risk and provide practical solutions
- Willingness to travel
