The Role
We are recruiting an experiencedLogistics Supervisor to join a busy and growing waste management operation based in Dundrod.
Reporting to the Dry Waste Operations Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and supervision ofdrivers, vehicle movements and waste collections, ensuring an efficient service while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and customer service.
This would suit an experiencedLogistics Supervisor, Transport Supervisor, Fleet Coordinator or Transport Planner looking to progress within a well-established organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate skip drivers and daily waste collection activities.
- Allocate work and ensure drivers have the correct paperwork, equipment and information.
- Support the management of the company vehicle fleet.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance, defect reporting and maintenance schedules.
- Manage hired vehicles when required.
- Monitor operational performance and ensure collections are completed efficiently.
- Maintain and update waste and logistics management systems.
- Liaise with third-party disposal sites regarding waste movements.
- Deal with customer queries and complaints through to resolution.
- Monitor driver/staff performance and support the wider management team.
- Produce logistics reports and review operational KPIs.
- Support regulatory and customer audits.
- Ensure compliance with waste transportation legislation and company procedures.
- Support TFS and Annex VII applications and notifications.
- Participate in operational meetings.
- Ensure Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures are followed at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum2 years experience within fleet logistics, ideally within waste management, OR a relevant logistics qualification.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Good understanding of fleet and transport operations.
- Knowledge of transport legislation and compliance.
- Experience monitoring operational performance and KPIs.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to delegate, supervise and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Confident using computer systems.
- Commercially aware with excellent attention to detail.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable
- Previouswaste management/logistics experience.
- Knowledge of waste management legislation.
- Level 4 WAMITAB OCC qualification.
- Experience using waste management software.
- Knowledge ofISO and ISO 45001 quality systems.
- Experience with TFS / Annex VII documentation.
