Head of Technology and Infrastructure

Overview

As Head of Technology & Infrastructure, you will lead technology operations, infrastructure, cyber security, workplace tech and IT support in a charity. You will drive a transformational shift from reactive support to a proactive, well-managed capability while partnering with senior stakeholders. You’ll stabilise and optimise the technology estate, strengthen cyber resilience, and oversee budgets and supplier performance. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery to enable the organisation’s mission through modern productivity tools and secure, reliable IT services.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology, infrastructure, cyber security, workplace technology and IT support services
• Stabilise and optimise the existing technology estate and workplace environment
• Strengthen cyber resilience, governance, risk management and service assurance
• Lead strategic technology suppliers and ensure strong performance, value and accountability
• Oversee technology budgets, procurement and investment decisions
• Improve service management, user support and operational performance
• Drive adoption of Microsoft 365, automation, AI and modern productivity tools
• Lead and develop a small technology team

Key requirements

• Senior leadership experience across technology, infrastructure, IT operations or technology services
• Proven track record improving technology operations and service management in a complex environment
• Experience managing third-party technology suppliers and contracts
• Understanding of cloud, infrastructure, networks, devices, collaboration platforms and SaaS
• Good understanding of cyber security, information assurance and technology risk
• Strong team and stakeholder management skills
• Public sector or charity experience preferred
