Application Engineer (Proposals)

Overview

In this role you will provide engineering expertise to support the quotation process for Solartron ISA’s wet gas, subsea and niche differential pressure flow meters in the energy sector. You will work with sales, engineering and operations to review requirements, perform gap analyses and generate proposals and documentation. You will own complex and strategic proposals, liaise with internal teams and customers, and contribute to tender and order fulfilment activities. This position offers exposure to cross-functional collaboration, technical decision making and mentorship of new engineers. Responsibilities

• Review client specifications and interpret requirements
• Evaluate process data to determine product sizing and selection
• Generate gap analyses between customer needs and standard designs and develop custom options
• Prepare tender and contract review documentation for evaluation meetings
• Pre- and post-contract engineering for standard and custom products, including BOMs and procedures
• Serve as technical liaison among internal disciplines, sub-suppliers and customers
• Produce quotation proposals from templates and configured cost sheets
• Occasional travel for customer meetings
• Act as technical authority on all product ranges
• Own complex and strategic proposals
• Provide mentoring and coaching to new engineering starters

Key requirements

• Recognised engineering qualification (engineering degree or relevant experience)
• Proven engineering experience (10 years minimum), preferably in mechanical or instrumentation engineering
• Competent user of MS Office and sales management tools (e.g., Salesforce)
