M&S Northern Area Manager

Overview

In this role, you lead Prysmian’s HV Systems Installation team in the Northern area, based in Leeds. You will manage engineers and operatives, overseeing performance, training needs, and administrative duties. You’ll drive planning, briefs, and SHEQ and company communications, while championing continuous improvement to hit KPIs. You will also expand Prysmian’s regional presence and establish a reactive maintenance service to meet market needs. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends people development with regional growth in the high voltage cable sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and direct a team of engineers and operatives
• Monitor performance, conduct appraisals, identify training needs and support development planning
• Handle line-management administration (timesheets, expense claims)
• Coordinate weekly planning, team briefs, SHEQ briefs and company communications
• Champion Continuous Improvement to achieve KPIs
• Develop regional presence and set up a reactive maintenance service to meet market needs

Key requirements

• Degree-level education or extensive, structured training with project and site management experience in HV cables
• Excellent leadership and prioritisation abilities
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Good communication at all levels
• Experience in high voltage cable industry or related field
