Apply for the Speech & Language Therapist (Band 6/7) – Exciting New Opportunity
Location: Maidstone
Job Description:

Looking for a Speech & Language Therapy role where you can make a real difference – and help shape something special from the very beginning?

We’re excited to be recruiting for a Speech & Language Therapist (Band 6/7) to join a brand-new specialist school opening in Maidstone.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking, therapeutic education team dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

You’ll be joining an organisation that genuinely values its therapists, invests in professional development and offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What Makes This Opportunity Special?

Maidstone, Kent

£40,000–£45,000 per annum

January 2027 Start

Full-Time | Permanent

  • Excellent salary of £40,000–£45,000, depending on experience
  • Private healthcare package, including medical and dental cover
  • Outstanding professional development, with up to 100% financial support towards relevant qualifications
  • Fantastic career progression opportunities within a growing specialist education provider
  • Discounted gym membership and additional lifestyle benefits
  • Supportive, multidisciplinary environment where your expertise is genuinely valued
  • The opportunity to help shape therapeutic provision within a new school from the outset

About the Role

You’ll be supporting pupils across Key Stages 1-3 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences and may have additional special educational needs.

Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals, you’ll help develop and deliver innovative, individualised therapeutic programmes that support communication, confidence, emotional wellbeing and learning.

This is a chance to be much more than a therapist delivering individual sessions – you’ll become an integral part of a school community, helping young people overcome barriers and reach their potential.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Have experience supporting children and young people, ideally within SEND or SEMH settings
  • Are passionate about making a positive difference through therapeutic intervention
  • Enjoy collaborative working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Are creative, compassionate and enthusiastic about developing new approaches
  • Are looking for a rewarding long-term career opportunity with genuine progression

Experience in specialist education would be advantageous, but we’re equally keen to hear from therapists working in the NHS, community services or other clinical settings who are considering a move into education.
