Technical Director – MEP (Building Services)

Overview

As Technical Director for MEP in Newcastle, you will shape and lead Stantec’s MEP (Building Services) offering in the North-East. You’ll drive work-winning, nurture long-term client relationships, and ensure technical excellence and profitability across complex projects. You’ll build and coach a high-performing MEP team, uphold quality assurance and governance, and champion innovative design. Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the MEP team in Newcastle; manage delivery excellence and governance
• Support work-winning strategies and develop a robust project pipeline through client engagement
• Build long-term client relationships and maintain strategic oversight of key decisions
• Ensure technical excellence and profitability on complex, multi-disciplinary projects
• Champion innovative design approaches and continuous improvement across projects
• Oversee delivery of large-scale MEP and multidisciplinary schemes in the UK
• Mentor and develop high-performing teams and ensure stakeholder engagement
• Contribute to contract, fee management, and change-control processes

Key requirements

• Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification at HNC/HND/Bachelors/Master’s level (ideally Chartered or pursuing)
