Contract Manager – Highway

Overview

In this Hertfordshire-based role you will lead term maintenance contracts for highways on a long-term basis. You will work with cross-functional teams to manage budgets, programming, and contractor performance, ensuring contract compliance and financial accuracy. The position focuses on NEC3 event handling, final accounts, and effective contract administration to support reliable highway services. This is an opportunity to shape delivery on major maintenance activities within a regional program.

Responsibilities

• Produce estimates in line with the contract and Schedule of Rates; finalize accounts for works
• Assess and respond to NEC3 compensation events
• Manage and procure contracts
• Plan and program highways inspections and reactive works, including allocation of personnel
• Agree final accounts for schemes and reactive highways works
• Budget management and monitoring
• Monitor contractor performance against KPIs
• Respond to contract communications in a timely manner
