Overview

As Director, Customs and Foreign Trade Tax, you lead a consultants team to identify tax savings opportunities for clients and maintain key relationships. You manage complex customs and foreign trade tax projects, including audits and recovery, while ensuring accurate research, data reconciliation, and detailed calculations. You will travel to client sites to gather documentation and support audit refund processes. The role offers strategic oversight, client leadership, and a path for accelerated career growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop client workplans and schedule project deliverables
• Visit client sites to collect tax documentation for audits and refunds
• Review client data, identify tax issues, and perform research
• Assist with client billing and financial forecasting
• Respond to inquiries from state agencies and prepare client presentations
• Manage complex tax projects (audit defense, managed audits, compliance, reverse audits, recovery)
• Negotiate tax resolutions with state agencies
• Supervise team members and ensure policy compliance

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Accounting and/or Finance
• six to eight years of audit or tax-related experience
• direct supervision of employees in tax practice
