We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Reigate and Banstead to assist with the appointment of an Operations Manager, on a 5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.
Rate of Pay: £199.69 – £262.91 per day
Summary
Reigate and Banstead Council is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the safe, effective and customer-focused delivery of the Council’s frontline greenspaces operations, overseeing teams responsible for parks, open spaces, countryside sites, trees and woodlands, cemeteries, allotments and sports pitches.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of frontline parks and countryside operations, ensuring services are maintained to agreed standards.
- Directly line manage two Team Leaders and provide leadership and oversight to frontline operational teams.
- Plan and allocate staffing, vehicles, plant, equipment and resources to meet operational priorities and seasonal demands.
- Lead on health & safety, operational risk assessments, safe systems of work, inspections, incidents and corrective actions.
- Develop and monitor operational plans, maintenance programmes and performance measures, driving continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience managing frontline operational teams, ideally within parks, greenspaces, countryside or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety, operational risk management and service delivery.
- Excellent leadership, planning, communication and performance management skills.
