Overview

Join Howden’s Aviation Data & Analytics team to transform data into actionable insights for insurance decisions. You will work closely with brokers and stakeholders, building analytics that support aviation products and management reviews. The role blends training with hands-on data work in a fast-paced, AI-enabled environment, contributing to portfolio reporting and quality data delivery. This is an early-career path with mentoring, offering exposure across data, analytics, and aviation domain knowledge. You will help shape reporting, automation, and data standards within a collaborative international team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with brokers and stakeholders to translate real-world problems into data and AI questions.
• Prototype data ideas, shaping user stories and analytical approaches.
• Clean, analyze and validate data from multiple sources (premium, placement, claims, performance) for accuracy.
• Identify patterns and anomalies and interpret their practical implications.
• Turn data into reports, dashboards and analytics to support brokers, facilities and senior management.
• Support AI-enabled tools to automate repetitive data tasks and accelerate reporting.
• Collaborate with data, technology and analytics teams across the group.
• Document work and apply data/AI best practices; decide when to use AI or manual work.

Key requirements

• Degree in a numerate or analytical subject
• Strong attention to detail and logical thinking
• Genuine interest in data-driven decision making
• Ability to explain ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
• Curiosity and problem-solving mindset, comfortable with AI tooling
• Excel experience; Python, SQL and/or R exposure
• Familiarity with Power BI (or similar)
• Interest in Databricks and GenAI tools
• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Power Automate) and producing presentation materials is advantageous
