Assistant Site Manager

Overview

In this role you oversee field operations, coordinating labour and subcontractors to keep the build programme on track while ensuring materials are available and work is performed safely. You support the Site Manager with planning, quality control, and customer-ready handovers. You will deputise when needed and focus on delivering defect-free homes that meet customer expectations. Responsibilities

• Organise and control labour and subcontractors to meet the build programme
• Produce and review weekly planning sheets to align with the schedule
• Direct contractors to maintain quality standards and meet customer expectations
• Coordinate material availability with Site Manager and procurement
• Ensure site personnel comply with Safety Regulations and company procedures
• Perform regular safety inspections and enforce method statements and risk assessments
• Liaise daily with Sales Executive on customer options, variations, and issues
• Plan and arrange inspections with National House Builders Council and Local Authority
• Assist in completing Home Quality Inspection (HQI) and ensuring defect-free handover
• Support customer care post-completion visits and address snagging items
• Ensure contractors work to issued drawings, company specs, and scope of works
• Support Site Manager in applying company franchise rules for site presentation
• Manage waste disposal and ensure subcontractors separate waste per policy

Key requirements

• Trade background
• NVQ Residential Construction Site Supervision L4
• Detailed knowledge of building process including NHBC and Building Regulations
• First aid qualified
• CSCS card holder at Manager/Supervisor level
