Technical AI Project Manager : Energy Trading

Overview

In this role you will lead the end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled projects within energy trading, coordinating cross-functional teams to meet business and digital transformation goals. You will partner with sponsors, technology teams and suppliers to manage scope, schedule, costs and risks, while maintaining governance and ensuring measurable benefits. The position blends agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery to fit complex, high-impact programs. This is a senior, high-visibility role with a focus on delivering strategic technology outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from initiation to closure with clear objectives and success measures
• Develop integrated project plans covering scope, schedule, resources, budget and readiness
• Manage finances including forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis and corrective actions
• Govern change control and ensure impacts are understood before decisions
• Establish governance, reporting and escalation processes
• Proactively manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies
• Ensure compliance with technology, security, architecture and assurance requirements
• Build relationships with sponsors, stakeholders and delivery teams
• Provide executive reporting on progress, risks, finances, and delivery confidence
• Coordinate multiple teams and suppliers to resolve delivery constraints
• Ensure business readiness, service transition and user adoption
• Confirm benefits are defined, measurable and linked to outcomes
• Complete closure activities including lessons learned and residual risk management

Key requirements

• Extensive experience delivering large-scale technology projects with high business impact and senior stakeholder visibility
• Strong planning, governance, financial management, risk management and change control expertise
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across business and technology functions
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches
