Senior Systems Engineer

Overview

Senior Systems Engineer drives tender development and full lifecycle delivery of subsea control systems. You combine customer-facing application engineering with systems engineering to define architecture, manage requirements, and ensure robust integration and verification. You will support commercial teams with competitive, compliant offerings and oversee project execution from concept to handover. This role sits at the intersection of technology leadership and real-world delivery, shaping subsea solutions for complex projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to balance customer needs, technical feasibility, and project constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead tender studies and develop technical proposals to support commercial efforts
• Review client specifications and prepare technical documentation, risk registers, and compliance materials
• Define system architecture, requirements, and interfaces across the full project lifecycle
• Maintain system models, specify requirements, and generate design review materials
• Assess new technologies for alignment with design intent and constraints
• Define verification and validation strategies and provide supporting evidence
• Manage technical changes through a controlled change management process
• Support system integration, testing, acceptance, and ensure standards compliance

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Engineering or related discipline
• Strong experience with subsea control systems and Systems Engineering practices (ISO-15288 or equivalent)
• Proven involvement across full lifecycle engineering projects (requirements, design, verification)
• Experience in tendering, technical proposal development, or engineering project management
• Knowledge of control system technologies, communication architectures, and subsea design considerations
• Confident engagement with customers and ability to support technical discussions
• Strong prioritization, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure
