Procurement Transformation Lead

Overview

In this interim role, you will lead the redesign and implementation of end-to-end procurement and contract management processes within a major public sector transformation. You’ll shape a more efficient, compliant, and value-driven commercial function and drive governance, standardisation, and benefits tracking. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across procurement, finance, legal, governance and operations to embed new ways of working. This is a high-impact opportunity to define and embed a new operating model at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end procurement and commercial lifecycle processes
• Develop governance frameworks, operating principles and decision-making controls
• Drive process standardisation, simplification and continuous improvement
• Align commercial processes with systems, reporting and performance management requirements
• Establish benefits tracking for savings, social value, sustainability and contract outcomes
• Engage senior stakeholders across procurement, finance, legal, governance and operational teams
• Support implementation and adoption of new ways of working across the organisation

Key requirements

• Strong experience leading procurement or commercial transformation programmes
• Proven track record in business process redesign and operating model development
• Deep understanding of procurement, contract management and the wider commercial life-cycle
• Experience working within large, complex organisations
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing senior leaders
• Strong process mapping, governance and business analysis capabilities
