Senior Security Architect

Overview

In this role you will act as the technical authority for security across a portfolio of complex programmes in the public sector, shaping secure technology solutions across cloud, network, infrastructure and application domains. You will translate security risks into design considerations, lead architecture reviews and collaborate with delivery teams to embed secure-by-design principles. The role combines deep technical security expertise with stakeholder management to drive secure outcomes. Responsibilities

• Act as senior Security Architect and technical authority across projects and services
• Lead security architecture reviews and provide guidance on secure design principles
• Assess security controls for cloud, network, infrastructure and applications
• Review complex solutions for alignment with security, regulatory and business requirements
• Conduct threat modelling, cyber risk assessments and vulnerability assessments
• Provide oversight and recommendations for security testing and penetration testing
• Support vulnerability management and help prioritise and remediate risks
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, testers and assurance teams to deliver secure solutions
• Escalate complex technical security challenges when required
• Coach and mentor security practitioners to improve deliverables
• Promote cybersecurity best practices and contribute to technical standards
• Engage with senior stakeholders and delivery teams to communicate risks and recommendations

Key requirements

• Significant experience in one or more technical cybersecurity disciplines (Security Architecture, Security Engineering, Cloud Security, Network Security, Application Security, Penetration Testing)
• Strong understanding of modern cyber threats and risk
• Experience applying secure-by-design principles across enterprise environments
• Knowledge of cloud, infrastructure and enterprise security technologies
• Ability to translate complex security concepts into business-focused recommendations
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
• Experience reviewing security architectures, designs, risk assessments and testing outputs
• Ability to provide technical guidance and influence decisions across complex programmes
