Senior Security Architect

Overview

As a Senior Technical Security Consultant, you will act as a technical authority shaping secure technology solutions across cloud, network, infrastructure and application domains. You will collaborate with architects, engineers and senior stakeholders to embed security throughout the design and delivery lifecycle. Your role includes leading security architecture reviews, guiding risk assessments and supporting secure-by-design delivery across UK Healthcare, Defence, Central Government and the public sector. Responsibilities

• Act as a senior Security Architect and technical authority across multiple projects and services
• Lead security architecture reviews and provide guidance on secure design principles
• Assess security controls across cloud, network, infrastructure and applications
• Review complex solutions for alignment with security, regulatory and business needs
• Conduct and support threat modelling, cyber risk and vulnerability assessments
• Provide oversight and recommendations for security testing and penetration testing
• Support vulnerability management and prioritisation of risks
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, testers and assurance teams to deliver secure solutions
• Act as escalation point for complex security challenges
• Coach and mentor security practitioners to improve quality of deliverables
• Promote cybersecurity best practice and contribute to technical standards
• Engage with senior stakeholders and delivery teams to communicate risks and findings clearly

Key requirements

• Experience in one or more security disciplines (Security Architecture, Security Engineering, Cloud Security, Network Security, Application Security, Penetration Testing)
• Strong understanding of modern cyber threats and secure-by-design principles
• Knowledge of cloud, infrastructure and enterprise security technologies
• Ability to translate complex concepts into business-focused recommendations
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
• Experience reviewing security architectures, risk assessments and testing outputs
• Ability to provide technical guidance across complex programs
