Senior MEP Cost Manager – Real Estate

Overview

In this role you will lead MEP cost management on projects and commissions in the London Real Estate team. You will establish budgets, develop cost plans, support design teams to meet targets, and oversee tendering, procurement, and post-contract reporting. You will coach junior staff and collaborate with clients, contractors and suppliers to optimise value and drive MEP cost performance. Responsibilities

• Establish early budgets and cost plans for projects or MEP commissions
• Support design teams to achieve budget objectives
• Manage tendering and procurement (single-stage and two-stage)
• Deliver post-contract reporting and cost variations/change control
• Perform cost checks, valuations and monthly post-contract cost reports
• Contribute to value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
• Negotiate and agree final accounts
• Lead or support cost management teams and collaborate with stakeholders
• Engage with clients, consultants, engineers, contractors and manufacturers
• Develop colleagues and advance MEP digital systems and tools

Key requirements

• Proven track record delivering cost management/quantity surveying across full project lifecycle
• Professionally qualified (RICS or similar) or working towards
• Degree or HNC level qualification
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Experience delivering MEP elements for clients
• Knowledge and contacts within the MEP supply chain (tier 1 and below)
• Experience using digital software for cost management
• Commercially astute with negotiation skills
