Security Operations Placement Year

Overview

In this Security Operations internship, you will gain hands-on experience handling security alerts and incidents while supporting senior engineers across threat intelligence, detection engineering, forensics and malware analysis. You’ll be paired with a mentor and operate within a collaborative, research-driven environment at our Central London base. You’ll work on real-world security challenges at scale, contributing to threat detection and incident response across cloud and on‑prem systems. This role offers meaningful exposure to enterprise security operations and a path to grow under experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for cyber security matters within the business
• Investigate security alerts across Windows, Linux, Kubernetes and cloud environments
• Lead triage and coordination of security incidents
• Conduct threat hunting across a centralised data lake
• Utilise threat intelligence sources to enhance detection capabilities
• Work with an internally developed interface backed by SIEM tools from Azure, Elastic and AWS

Key requirements

• Cyber Security degree programme with placement year, graduating in 2029
• Strong interest in cybersecurity and solid technical foundation
• Proactive, methodical problem-solving approach
• Good communication and ability to support internal users
• Strong organisational skills and quick learning in a fast-moving environment
• Predicted grade of 2:1 or above
