Commercial Director (Renewable Energy)

Overview

In this role you will lead the commercial direction for major onshore wind projects within a growing renewables business. You will own pre-construction strategy, financial performance and risk management, collaborating with engineering and project teams to ensure viability and construction readiness. You’ll operate from Glasgow with regional travel, driving procurement, contract negotiations and mobilisation. This is a senior, autonomous leadership position with clear impact on the company’s growth and green energy portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial direction for major onshore wind projects during pre-construction
• Lead feasibility, budgeting, procurement, contract negotiation and mobilisation
• Oversee due diligence, financial performance and risk management
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure viability and construction readiness
• Report to and influence the Senior Leadership Team on commercial strategy and outcomes

Key requirements

• Experience as a commercial leader at Director level or equivalent
• Proven track record delivering pre-construction renewable energy projects (feasibility, financial management, contract management, programme delivery)
• Essential onshore wind experience; solar or high voltage experience advantageous
• Ability to take ownership of major projects and drive growth within a rising organisation
