Interim Senior Counsel

Legal Counsel (6-Month FTC) | Commercial, Technology & Corporate Matters | Immediate Start

We’re partnering with a growing UK business to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a lean, highly regarded legal team, supporting a diverse range of commercial and strategic projects across the business. The role would be hybrid working 2-3 days in a Central London office.

You will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal support across a wide range of matters, including:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, technology, SaaS, procurement, data processing and confidentiality agreements.
• Advising on commercial, legal and regulatory issues affecting the business.
• Supporting contract negotiations and tender processes with both public and private sector customers.
• Helping to improve contracting processes, legal templates and legal operations across the organisation.
• Identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders across sales, operations, finance, compliance and senior leadership teams.
• Supporting strategic projects, including acquisitions, integrations, corporate transactions, governance and compliance initiatives.

About You

• Qualified solicitor with approximately 5+ years’ PQE (candidates outside this range will also be considered).
• Strong background in commercial contracting, ideally gained in-house or through a mix of private practice and industry experience.
• Experience advising on technology, software, data protection and wider commercial matters.
• Commercially minded and confident partnering with stakeholders across a business.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment and managing a varied workload.
• Exposure to public sector contracting, procurement, governance, compliance or corporate transactions would be advantageous.
