CFO PE-Backed Professional Services Group (Buy & Build to Exit)

Overview

As CFO in a PE-backed professional services business, you will lead value creation across acquisition-driven growth and post-deal integration. You will partner with the CEO, Board and investors to drive governance, reporting, and system maturity while steering the Buy & Build strategy toward the exit. You’ll shape financial due diligence, funding, and commercial insight to lift performance across the group. This is a high-impact role at scale, offering equity alongside a competitive package. You will help professionalise a founder-led business and accelerate growth through strategic acquisitions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the acquisition strategy and evaluate opportunities
• Oversee financial due diligence, deal execution and funding
• Manage post-deal integration and value-enhancement initiatives
• Provide commercial and financial insight to drive performance improvement
• Partner with Board, investors and advisers on governance, reporting and processes
• Support senior leadership through professionalisation of governance and systems

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA)
• Proven CFO experience in a PE-backed business
• End-to-end M&A experience: evaluation, due diligence, deal execution, funding, integration
• Background in professional services, legal services, B2B services or similar people-led sector
• Experience supporting founder-led businesses through governance, reporting, systems and process maturity
