Senior Design Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will develop new mobile recycling machinery and maintain existing models within defined timelines. You will work with the lead engineer to deliver engineered solutions that meet safety, function, and reliability standards while driving cost-efficient designs. You’ll apply group standards and stay abreast of component advances to keep products innovative. This role blends hands-on design with cross-functional collaboration in a global manufacturing context. Your impact spans product performance, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products and modify existing ones for mobile recycling machinery
• Follow Group standards (QFD, FMEA, DFM, prototype development, field testing)
• Manage engineering data using IT systems and ensure release accuracy
• Ensure products meet safety, function and reliability standards
• Reduce manufacturing costs through design improvements in collaboration with production and suppliers
• Investigate and respond to customer complaints promptly
• Stay updated on components and competitor trends to drive innovation
• Possibly perform additional duties as required

Key requirements

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• 3D CAD experience (CREO preferred)
• Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems
• Experience with mobile recycling machinery is advantageous
• Good English communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Can-do attitude and ability to work in multi-functional teams
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
• Ability to assess risks and select design alternatives
