Senior Civil Engineer – Dams/Reservoirs

Overview

As a Dams & Reservoirs Engineer in Jacobs’ Water Catchment Management team, you will help shape UK reservoir projects from feasibility to detailed design. You will contribute to high-profile dam and water-resource schemes that bolster water security and resilience. You’ll lead technical work across multidisciplinary teams, mentoring engineers and delivering safe, sustainable engineering solutions. Responsibilities

• Deliver dam and reservoir appraisal and design projects
• Support schemes from pre-feasibility through to detailed design
• Provide technical leadership across project work packages
• Mentor and develop engineers and technical professionals
• Collaborate with hydrology, geotechnics, hydraulics, structures and environmental disciplines
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to successful project outcomes
• Champion safety, quality and engineering excellence in all work

Key requirements

• Significant experience in dam and reservoir engineering
• Strong knowledge of reservoir appraisal, inspection, design and asset management
• Experience delivering projects across feasibility, outline and detailed design stages
• Ability to lead technical work and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Chartered status (or working towards it) with a relevant professional institution
