NHS Consultant Rheumatologist / General Medicine

Overview

In this role you will join the Rheumatology department to provide inpatient, day unit and outpatient services across East Sussex. You will work within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of a patient-centered rheumatology service, including a ultrasound-based fast-track GCA clinic and cross-site clinical activity. The position is based at EDGH with outreach across Conquest Hospital Hastings and Uckfield community hospital, and involves regular audit and governance participation to improve outcomes. This is a full-time, permanent post offering opportunities to shape care delivery across a broad catchment.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient, day unit and outpatient rheumatology services across multiple sites
• Participate in ultrasound-based fast-track GCA clinic
• Engage in cross-site clinical activities and community clinics
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary team care and service development
• Participate in regular audit, governance and outcome meetings
• Support education and training of junior staff and learners
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance patient-centered care across the trust

Key requirements

• MRCP or equivalent
• CCT in Rheumatology & General Internal Medicine or equivalent; GMC specialist register
• Full GMC registration and Licence to Practice
• Expertise in Rheumatology and General Medicine
