Associate Director – Quality Engineering, GPS

Overview

In this role you’ll lead quality engineering for Government & Public Services, shaping testing strategies and delivery across complex technology programs. You’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to drive reliable, secure solutions and contribute to Deloitte’s QE thought leadership. You’ll manage multi-disciplinary teams, guide tender responses, and develop market offerings that advance public sector transformation. Responsibilities

• Own quality engineering service delivery for one or more Government & Public Services clients
• Create tailored test strategies for large, complex client deliveries
• Plan and manage client test delivery within quality, time, cost objectives
• Advise on testing tools and techniques and their effective use
• Review test processes and coach teams on improvements
• Manage diverse teams in an inclusive culture
• Support responses to large public sector tenders and frameworks from PQQ/RFI to RFPs
• Oversee budgets and client deliverables/billing
• Lead industry-aligned teams with strategy and direction
• Mentor junior resources and contribute to Deloitte’s QE thought leadership

Key requirements

• UK Government SC Clearance (or eligible with 5 years UK residency)
• Experience delivering Quality Engineering & Testing Services in UK Government & Public Services
• Excellent communication, presentation, and business writing skills bridging technical and business stakeholders
• Experience building and strengthening key client relationships
• Experience in functional system testing, integration testing, UAT, and non-functional testing including performance and automation
• Test management tool expertise (JIRA/ADO/Zephyr/X-Ray)
• Experience developing thought leadership materials or go-to-market propositions
• Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and self-drive
• Attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced client environments
• Strong commercial awareness of professional services and change/transformation programs
