Underwriting Data & Operations Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the underwriting data and operations function within a London Market insurer, driving data quality, governance and actionable insights. You will manage a team of Underwriting Operations Analysts and partner with Underwriting and other functions to improve reporting, processes and systems. You’ll focus on turning data into decision-ready information to support operational performance and strategic initiatives. The opportunity offers leadership responsibility in a data-driven environment with meaningful improvements across the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Underwriting Operations Analysts
• Oversee underwriting data and management information production, accuracy and development
• Collaborate with Underwriting to define data requirements, identify trends and provide insights for decision-making
• Enhance data quality, governance and controls across the underwriting lifecycle
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate reporting and boost operational efficiency
• Support development and deployment of underwriting systems, reporting tools and technology
• Manage team priorities and resources across BAU and change initiatives

Key requirements

• Strong understanding of London Market underwriting operations
• Excellent data, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL or equivalent data/reporting tools (advantageous)
