Client Accounts Manager

Overview

As an Accounts Senior in a well-established independent accountancy practice, you will manage a portfolio of predominantly limited companies alongside sole traders, partnerships, and charities. You’ll prepare statutory accounts, manage tax compliance, and support advisory work, contributing to client relationships and team development. The role offers broad, hands-on experience across accounts, tax, VAT, and advisory services, with clear pathways for progression during an exciting succession phase. You’ll work closely with partners to shape growth and deliver high-quality client service.

Responsibilities

• Manage own portfolio of limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and charities
• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies
• Prepare accounts for sole traders and partnerships
• Handle corporation tax compliance and personal tax returns including company directors
• Prepare and file VAT returns and address VAT matters
• Prepare management accounts
• Support clients with HMRC queries
• Assist with implementation of relevant accounting standards
• Supervise and support junior team members
• Build strong client relationships and provide advisory support when needed
• Support Audit Manager where required
• Engage in specialist and advisory projects as experience develops

Key requirements

• Experience in an accountancy practice
• Ability to prepare year-end accounts for limited companies
• Broad understanding of tax and VAT
• Confidence to interact directly with clients
• Desire to develop technical knowledge and take on more client-facing responsibility
