Lead Data Products Engineer

We’re partnered with a leading consultancy who are building a new Data Products capability and are looking for a Lead Data Products Engineer to help define, design and evolve the data products that underpin business-critical analytics, modelling and client-facing solutions.

This is an opportunity to join a greenfield function and shape how data products are built, governed and consumed across a highly complex data ecosystem.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading the design and development of enterprise-scale data products.
• Working with domain experts to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Driving best practices across data quality, governance, observability and reliability.
• Defining data contracts, schemas and reusable data assets.
• Providing technical leadership to engineers while influencing product and platform strategy.
• Contributing to the evolution of a modern Data Platform within a data product-led operating model.

What we’re looking for

• Experience leading data engineering, data platform or data product teams.
• Expertise across modern data platforms, cloud technologies and data architectures.
• Experience with technologies such as Databricks, SQL, NoSQL and Lakehouse environments.
• Exposure to Data Mesh, data governance, metadata management and data product thinking.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Opportunity to influence the direction of a newly formed Data Products function.
