Principal Enterprise Architect

Overview

As Principal Enterprise Architect, you will shape the enterprise architecture for Shell’s downstream and renewables domains, aligning IT strategy with business goals. You’ll lead architecture across Global Lubricants, Customer Operations, Low Carbon Solutions and CRM, delivering roadmaps and target states. You’ll champion data, integration and platform architectures to enable scalable, future-ready solutions. You will influence senior stakeholders and guide major programmes, driving transformation that supports the energy transition. This role offers high-impact ownership within a collaborative, leadership-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term enterprise architecture strategy aligned to corporate vision
• Own architecture for Global Lubricants, Customer Operations, Low Carbon Solutions and CRM
• Define multi-year target architectures and roadmaps
• Promote design quality, reuse, composability and global standards
• Champion data models, integration patterns and platform strategies
• Provide leadership across architecture communities and develop Lead Architects
• Diagnose and resolve cross-domain problems with innovative approaches
• Influence senior stakeholders and guide governance decisions
• Oversee major programmes to ensure alignment with enterprise direction

Key requirements

• Proven enterprise architecture leadership across multiple domains
• Deep technology experience in CRM and digital platforms (Salesforce and/or Dynamics)
• Expertise in integration, data architecture and cloud technologies
• Experience in customer operations, commercial platforms or energy/value chains is desirable
• Track record of influencing senior stakeholders in complex environments
• Strong problem-solving and leadership capability
