Working as part of a specialist Clinical Engineering team, you will undertake maintenance, repair, calibration, testing, and commissioning of medical devices, while providing expert technical support to clinical staff. Main duties of the job
- Carry out maintenance, repair, calibration and safety testing of a wide range of medical equipment.
- Commission, install and acceptance-test new medical devices.
- Diagnose faults and provide technical support to clinical departments across the Trust.
- Ensure medical equipment complies with safety standards, regulations and quality requirements.
- Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance programmes to maximise equipment availability.
- Maintain accurate service, maintenance and calibration records.
- Liaise with manufacturers and external service providers regarding repairs and specialist support.
- Deliver training and advice to healthcare staff on the safe use of medical equipment.
- Support equipment safety investigations, risk assessments and service improvement initiatives.

Education & Qualification
- Degree, HND, HNC, BTEC, OND, ONC in an appropriate engineering discipline, i.e. Electronics, Mechanics etc
- Registered Clinical Technologist
Skills and knowledge
- Must be able to work as part of a team and also to work independently, making potentially complex and technical decisions without supervision
- Ability to prepare documents and papers that may have a wide, multidisciplinary audience
- Be able to physically lift heavy equipment, carry out repetitive equipment testing and work in awkward positions several times each day
