Senior Technical Sales – Switchgear/Busbar

Overview

In this Technical Sales role, you drive consultative sales of electrical power distribution solutions for data centers, collaborating with customers, sales, engineering, and production teams. You will tailor designs using Vertiv’s portfolio—from medium/low voltage switchgear to UPS and prefabricated systems—to meet precise requirements. The position sits at the intersection of technical execution and commercial drive, enabling scalable, tailored deployments. You’ll influence decision-making, stay ahead of market trends, and help shape customer-facing solutions that align with Vertiv’s capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales of electrical power distribution portfolio through consultative selling with Sales and technical support functions
• Collaborate with customers to capture technical requirements and develop customized solutions using Vertiv’s product portfolio
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to customers and internal stakeholders
• Review RFQs to identify customer requirements and specifications
• Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to validate designs and align with production capabilities
• Monitor market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies in Switchgear and Busbar domain
• Manage relationships between Sales teams and the Line of Business
• Maintain CRM records of customer interactions, proposals, and project progress

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Proven experience in technical sales based on solution selling, preferably in electrical power distribution systems
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and related standards
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to travel (~30%) to customer sites and Vertiv offices
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in technical sales
